Prince William County is currently being developed at a rapid pace, and this fact is being both lauded and reviled by our citizens. On one side of the argument you have pro-growth, pro development minded folks that believe an influx of new homes, businesses and roads will bring revenue, prosperity, and an increase in population. On the other side you have people that believe that rampant development could turn the more rural areas of Prince William into yet another example of unchecked sprawl, complete with traffic nightmares, cookie cutter housing and condominium developments that would ruin the more relaxed pace of life that longtime citizens have very gladly grown accustomed to.
Like it or not, development is coming to Western Prince William County. And there will be specific legal issues that will arrive part and parcel with every road, home, school and shopping center that will be built over the next few years.
With more development, we can expect more construction contractors and laborers to build the housing. This means that we can expect more on-the-job injuries.
With more housing, we can expect more people living in the area.
With more people living in the area, we can expect more cars.
With more cars, we can expect more roads, and therefore more traffic, and therefore more accidents.
While we have mixed feelings about the development of our area, we are absolutely sure that it shouldn’t happen at the expense of those that live and work here. Those that are hired to build the roads, homes and condominiums should be properly compensated if they are injured on the job. Those that drive on our highways should have their safety respected by the commercial truck drivers that are making money with every mile that they travel. Unfortunately, our citizens don’t always get what they deserve, and one of the reasons is that developers, builders and truckers of all sorts routinely bring high-priced law firms with them.
If you become injured due to someone else’s negligence, you can be sure that the legal challenges that you face will be too large to face on your own. Having an attorney that is experienced and up to that task of handling your injury case is a crucial part of receiving fair treatment. The citizens of Prince William County know that Dulaney, Lauer and Thomas provide aggressive legal counsel for injury victims, and as the western part of the county continues to develop, our firm will be there to see that it is developed in a safe and fair manner. We are already offering legal counsel to citizens of Gainsville, Haymarket and Bristow, and will continue to do so.
