Culpeper Car Accident Results in Charges Against Woman

Posted on Feb 09, 2012

A recent car accident in Culpeper County has led to the filing of charges against a 28-year-old woman.

The accident in question occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, February 5, 2012, near Griffinsburg Road and U.S. 522. Supposedly, Jennifer Snead was traveling northbound when she crashed into a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Phillip Robert Sawyer.

According to the Virginia State Police, Snead was driving a 2011 Kia SUV too closely to another vehicle. Sergeant Les Tyler, a Virginia State Police spokesman, reported that Snead had swerved to avoid a collision, but still found herself in trouble when she crashed into the driver’s side of Sawyer’s 2004 Jeep Liberty.

Apparently, Sawyer was about to turn left when Snead hit him. He had a passenger in his car who was injured in the crash. His 21-year-old passenger was taken to Culpeper Regional Hospital for treatment. Luckily, the injuries were classified as non-life threatening.

Local fire and rescue, as well as county sheriff deputies, arrived at the accident scene to provide their assistance.

Snead was ultimately charged with following too closely. Virginia State Police Trooper C.R. Brennan was the one who issued her a summons.

The Culpeper car accident attorneys at the law firm of Dulaney, Lauer & Thomas wish the injured accident victim a quick recovery.
