It is always disturbing for motorists in Culpeper, Fauquier and throughout Virginia to witness or learn about accidents whose cause is not apparent. Motorists want to be convinced that drivers are in full control of their vehicles, which is not always the case.
A single-vehicle Yuma car crash has left a driver with serious injuries. The accident occurred at about 8:00 a.m. on Thursday when David Crabtree, 22, struck a tree while traveling along Yuma Road, near the Tennessee state line.
Crabtree's 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck ran off the left side of the road, striking several mailboxes before hitting a tree.
Virginia State Police (VSP) Trooper B.K. Hubbard said that Crabtree was trapped in the truck and had to be extricated by the emergency rescue crew. The Scott County Life Saving Crew and Gate City Fire Department joined the VSP in responding to the accident.
According to Scott County Central Dispatch, Crabtree was airlifted by a MedFlight helicopter to Holston Valley Medical Center. His condition is not known at this time.
Hubbard did not want to comment on the cause of the crash, saying that it was still under VSP investigation.
The Virginia car crash lawyers at Dulaney, Lauer & Thomas sincerely hope that David Crabtree will soon recover from his injuries.
