The snow, hail and ice that fell and formed in the Culpeper area Wednesday thorugh Thursday made the roads extremely slippery and hazardous for drivers, especially those unfamiliar with driving in these types of inclement conditions.

The weather situation was so bad that the Culpeper County E-911 center received 239 calls asking for assistance.  Many of the calls were drivers asking for help after running off the road or after getting stuck on the road.  Fortunately, emergency responders did not have to deal with any serious accidents or fatalities.
