This was a rear-end collision on Route 29, just north of Warrenton.  Our client suffered a permanent back injury requiring long term spinal injections and medication.  Because he was 60 at the time, the insurance company tried to claim that his symptoms were all preexisting (a common defense).  Also, the at-fault driver simply didn't have enough insurance coverage, so the case became an underinsured motorist (UIM) claim against our client's own company.  After 4 years, the case settled at mediation just one week before the jury trial date.
