May 22, 2012 – Strasburg, Va. – According to NVDaily, on Saturday, May 19, Colby Cooper was out with some friends when the 2001 Saturn he was driving went off the road and hit a rock. There were 4 other passengers in the car at the time of the accident.
Reports indicate that 3 were sent to the hospital, including one with serious injuries. Jymi Rudolph was the most seriously injured as the rest were treated and released. Information on her condition and chances of recovery are not available at this time.
Cooper ended up receiving a citation for reckless driving, as speed was noted as a factor in the accident.
Students at Strasburg High School are reaching out in support of their fellow student who remains in the hospital. Teachers and counselors are on hand to help students deal with the trauma of the situation.
